After the recession that was observed during the pandemic, 2021 showed an increase in real estate construction, as well as an improvement in the performance of the secondary housing sector, according to Colliers International, a new report by the consulting company. The data provided reflect the same trend at the national level. Seville turned out to be one of the provinces with the highest demand for real estate in Spain.

Seville ended 2020 with a decrease in the number of transactions by 22.1% compared to 2019. While the purchase and sale of secondary housing fell by 23.5%, the volume of new construction decreased by only 7.8%.

The situation changed in 2021, and, in fact, the first half of the year was the best in the entire historical series since the «brick boom». The number of transactions was 70.4% more than in 2020, and even 15.5% more than in the first half of 2019. Experts note that the good trend of the first half of the year will continue.

In the first half of 2021, 3.8% of the total number of secondary housing transactions in Spain were registered. In total, more than 12,300 transactions were carried out, and forecasts for the beginning of 2022 are very optimistic.
