Spain will enter the top 5 countries for real estate investments in 2022 with a volume of 7.5 billion euros

Spain is strengthening its position as a critical destination for real estate investment. According to forecasts of Knight Frank experts, in 2022, the country will enter the top five in terms of capital invested in Europe, with a volume of about 7.5 billion euros.

Jorge Sena, Partner and Head of Commercial Department at Knight Frank Spain, said: “Spain is a beautiful country for real estate investments, in particular thanks to the lucrative luxury residential sector, where sales outperform other countries. After the pandemic, the Spanish real estate sector is actively recovering, especially in logistics, data processing, office space and housing. We are confident that 2022 will consolidate the growth we see now.”

2022 is projected to mark a record year for cross-border real estate investment.

A team of professionals at the real estate consulting company predicts that 2022 will “show vitality.” In particular, they note that the most extensive capital inflows in the EMEA region (an abbreviation for an economic region and / or sales market that includes Europe) will be observed in the UK office sector, followed by Germany, France and the Netherlands. 61% of this investment will come from investment managers and institutions.

Other sectors of high investor interest include PRS and student housing, which will continue to attract the largest share of capital from the specialized sector, as reflected in the report. Data centres thriving with the rise of e-commerce and cloud computing and healthcare are receiving unprecedented levels of asset inquiries.
