In Spain the number of the super-rich increased by 12% in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis

Spain is in the top-15 countries in terms of the number of citizens with ultra-high income in the world. The report "The Wealth Report 2022" of the international consulting agency Knight Frank provided this information.

Particularly Spain took the 11th place in the rating in 2021. 11,685 people with ultra-high capital began to live in the country. As a result the number of these people increased by 12%. during the year.

The City Wealth Index (CWI) is one of the main metrics of The Wealth Report. The metric tracks the indicators of 100 cities with the largest real estate markets in the world.

Such criteria as the number of wealthy people living in a particular city, income from real estate investments, provided lifestyle, sustainable development are analyzed.

Madrid takes the first place according to these criteria among cities in Spain. The capital of the country has established itself as one of the most popular destinations for the super-rich. The city took the 14th place in CWI.

Approximately 2,903 individuals with high and ultra-high capital live in Madrid. This puts the city in the 23d place in the overall rating. The Spanish capital takes the 15th place in the rating of investment attractiveness and the 20th place in the rating of lifestyle attractiveness.

Madrid has a high-quality transport infrastructure and a good position in the global traffic. For example, the Barajas Airport has direct connections to 171 destinations, 146 of them are international destinations.

There are many five-star hotels, more than 20 premium restaurants marked with a MICHELIN star in the city. The capital is of obvious interest for wealthy people. This is stated by Humphrey White, the CEO of Knight Frank Spain.

Knight Frank is sure that positive trends in the Spanish real estate market will continue in 2022 with the sector's gradual recovery that has begun at the end of 2020. The market is likely to receive the record flow of investment this year. That is surprising in consideration with the current international situation and the ongoing pandemic.
