Spanish real estate market has gained momentum and continues its upward trend. According to the consulting company JLL, the total volume of investments in this sector (including offices, retail, logistics, apartment buildings, nursing houses, student dormitories and hotels) will amount to about EUR 12,000,000, which is 33% more than in the previous year.
In the commercial segment (offices, logistics and retail), investments in 2021 amounted to about EUR 5,900,000,000, which is 8% more than a year earlier.
Over the year, the volume of investments in logistics exceeded EUR 2,500,000,000, which is 77% more than in 2020. The indicator recorded in 2021 is the best indicator of the investment volume since 2017.
Investments in offices in Madrid and Barcelona in the fourth quarter of 2021 amounted to EUR 585,000,000, an increase of 58% compared to last year, due to high activity in Barcelona. In annual terms, the market completed 2021 with investments in this type of assets of more than EUR 2,200,000,000 (+33%), which is EUR 1,530,000,000 in Barcelona and EUR 693,000,000 in Madrid.
