Gestilar promises to build 2,000 “for rent” houses in Spain in 2022

The developer Gestilar has a portfolio of nearly 2,000 rental homes. The main activity regions are Madrid, Catalonia, and the Balearic Islands, with the first deliveries to be made in 2022.

The company’s main business remains focused on construction for sale, but Gestilar is already implementing other “build-to-rent” (BTR) projects. In early 2021, the developer signed the most significant rental agreement in Spain with the management company DWS. We are talking about a block sale of more than 1,000 homes, which will be located in the PAU territory in Vallecas and Getafe. The project, located in Getafe, bears the title of the largest BTR project in Spain regarding the number of houses - 750 units.

Beyond this agreement signed with DWS, Gestilar has other BTR projects with a total of nearly 1,000 houses. In Madrid, the company began its activities in this market to manage a turnkey residential project in the Mahu Calderón area.

Finally, BTR is completing its portfolio with three more projects with almost 600 houses located in Palma de Mallorca and Catalonia, locations that have been strategically important for the developer.

All projects will be built with sustainability and energy efficiency criteria in mind - essential qualities currently inherent in any new project, to obtain sustainability certificates “Breeam Good” or “Very Good”.

To provide the rental market with quality house with equipment and amenities, these projects will include communal facilities for the comfort of all residents, including gardens, swimming pools, playgrounds, community rooms, bicycle parking, collaboration spaces and gyms.
