The most expensive streets to purchase residential property in Spain

Beginning in 2021, as the COVID-19 pandemic’s peak phase came to an end, the Spanish real estate market began to recover and experienced a monthly recovery boom. Prices were rising as a result of increasing demand and decreasing supply. All of this has resulted in price growth for the majority of goods in almost all regions of the country to startlingly high levels at a time of inflation. The issue with raw supplies, building materials, and energy carriers made the situation worse.

For this reason, finding affordable residential real estate is difficult nowadays. Especially if the buyer wants to purchase a respectable home for a fair price in a premium neighbourhood. Homes for sale in some elite streets in the country’s main cities start at roughly 10 million euros. This sets an unattainable standard for most buyers.

But where should buyers look if they have a serious budget and a desire to buy the best Spain has to offer?

Record prices in Malaga

In Spain, the most “unreachable” street is situated on the Costa del Sol and covers the entire urbanisation of La Zagaleta, which is close to the city of Benahavis in Malaga. On average, local property owners ask about 10 million euros for most apartments on the market. On the island of Mallorca, Calle Sant Carles is located in the municipality of Calvia, just behind La Zagaleta. There, the typical home costs around 9.45 million euros.

Calle del Camino del Sur, which is a part of Madrid’s renowned housing complex La Moraleja, can be ranked third. The price may be higher than 8.44 million euros. This is significantly higher than the average price of 7.1 million euros on Camino del Golf, which is located in the same residential complex.

Eventually, the famous A-397 highway, which is a favourite location for motorcycle enthusiasts, comes in fifth place. It’s close to Benahavis. The average house price in the A-397 area is 7 million euros.

Three streets on the island of Mallorca, as well as the Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama street in La Moraleja, Madrid (6.9 million euros), are locations that deserve close attention:

  • Avenida Portals Vells in Calvia (6.77 million euros);
  • Calle Pagell in Andratx (6.7 million euros);
  • Calle Binicaubell in Palma (6.5 million euros).
