In 2022, the City Council of Jerez (Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz province) approved the construction of 488 residential buildings, which significantly exceeded the volume of construction in the city last year. Of the specified number of construction licenses, 162 permits were granted for the construction of residential facilities in the historical center of the city.

In addition to actively attracting private investment for such construction, the municipal authorities of Jerez are confident that they will be able to launch a significant number of social projects.

In 2023, they expect the construction of more than 200 residential units of social housing, which will be built at the expense of the Next Generation fund. This organization is a way for the Spanish government to maintain an adequate state of affordable housing stock in the autonomous communities of the country.

The Mayor of Jerez, Mamin Sanchez Diaz, claims that the demonstrated indicators, and their relation to the data for the previous year, are a clear demonstration of the growing attractiveness of the city for investment and living.

The Spanish real estate market as a whole is experiencing one of the best moments in its recent history and, according to Sanchez, Jerez successfully orients itself within the current trends. The mayor is confident that the city will be able to get among the most attractive residential real estate markets not only in Cadiz, but also in Andalusia in general.
