Real estate investments in Europe are returning to pre-pandemic levels, as profitability has increased by 10%

In the conditions of coming back to normal life and economic recovery, the European real estate market is rebounding. The level of investments reached EUR 208,00,000, that shows an increase of 10% compared to the same period of the previous year. Spain, Great Britain, Germany and the Scandinavian countries are leading in this direction. In particular, in the sector of apartments there was an increase of 20% compared to the data for the same period in 2020. Anna Puigdevalle, Head of FIABCI and CEO of the Association of Real Estate Agents of Catalonia (AIC) and the National Association of Real Estate Agents (ANAI), notes that «the resilience shown by this type of real estate in crisis situations has aroused great interest from European investors who are betting on real estate investments due to the demand on the market».

No less a major player on the continent as a whole is the rental housing market. The Head of FIABCI assures that «in Europe, this trend is gaining strength and contributes to the creation of alliances between investment groups due to the current success of the residential sector market, which is estimated to account for a third of global real estate investment by 2030».

To sum up, the boom in this type of investment is explained by «the search for safe assets in which investors with stable income are interested», says Anna Puigdevalle. In this sense, «growing interest is observed both among investment funds and among individual investors».
