The number of residential property sales in Spain increased by 14.1% in the first quarter of 2022, thereby already reaching the level of 14 years ago.
The first quarter of this year ended with the conclusion of 164,299 transactions for the sale of residential real estate, according to market statistics collected and presented to the public by Europa Press. 32,316 contracts were for new real estate, and 131,983 contracts were for secondary market real estate. This is more than the indicators of the IV quarter of 2021 by 13.2% and 14.3%.
Other data show that an increasing number of buyers prefer to buy housing on the secondary market instead of new buildings. Their price is lower, there is an opportunity to find out in advance what the habitable space is, there are opportunities for more flexible negotiations.
