La Nogalera is the first large luxury residential complex in Spain

Torremolinos is a town and municipality in Malaga, with a traditional local flavor and peaceful life of southern Spain. Speaking of these places, lively beaches, Malaga's famous grilled fish, and vibrant nightclubs come to mind. However, it is not all about Torremolinos.

Torremolinos is a unique place due to its incredible architecture and attractions, among which there are places of modern heritage. And among them, there is one that stands out from the rest due to its innovative nature. This is about La Nogalera.

Importance and features of La Nogalera

La Nogalera is a large residential and entertainment complex designed by architect Antonio Lamela in 1961 and located in the heart of Torremolinos, next to the square of the same name, which is known for its metro station connecting the city with Malaga in one direction and Fuengirola in the other.

The architectural complex consists of six blocks of four to ten floors on a huge plot of 23,500 sq. m. The complex territory is divided into three parts, each of which has access to highways and pedestrian paths.

The project has more than 240 apartments, an apartment hotel, and several commercial properties.

To an unprepared viewer, it may seem that this is a typical building in the style of the 60s, but this is only partly true. Never before has the Costa del Sol seen such an innovative and perfect way of urbanizing a city, in which La Nogarela is a unique and pioneering example of a new approach to architecture and urban planning.
