The real estate market in Spain continues to grow. The Association of Registrars recorded 7,772 purchase and sale deals for houses in Catalonia this February. This is 22.4% more than in the same month of 2021. This foreshadows a promising first quarter for the sector: sales of 7,800 homes in January in this area increased by 24% compared to the same period last year. In February, there were 14,000 real estate purchase and sale transactions (of all real estate types) in Catalonia, which is 17.4% more than a year ago. In January, the same year-on-year increase was 28.5%.

Although the housing sector is one of the most effectively developing after the crisis. The data show a slight slowdown in activity in this sector in February. This month, almost 6% less real estate was sold in Catalonia than a month earlier. In the housing sector, the reduction was 0.4%.

"As for the total number of sales and purchases, which has increased significantly in recent months, the housing market again showed positive figures in February, although more modest than in January," the registrars explained the state of the Spanish real estate market.

"In general, the dynamics of mortgage loans remains positive, similar to that of housing transactions. However, mortgage loans slowed down more sharply in February," they note.
