According to the report prepared by the Idealista real estate portal, the city of Getafe (prov. Madrid) again took second place in the ranking of cities in Spain in terms of buyers' interest in purchasing real estate. The report was based on data collected for the first quarter of 2022.
The first place in the last quarter was taken by Madrid, the capital of the country, and Getafe has been second in the ranking for two consecutive quarters (approx. from the IV quarter of 2021).
The report also highlights that market indicators for the southern territories of the Madrid region have grown significantly this year. The overall level of demand for the purchase of housing has increased, for the first time such localities as Fuenlabrada (on the 5th place) and Parla (on the 11th place) have entered the ratings.
The Idealista rating also analyzed the average demand for housing in the 100 most expensive cities in Spain, with special attention to the largest cities and their suburbs.
When considering the growth in demand for rental housing in the province of Madrid, settlements from the south of the region also appear here, although in lower positions.
Fuenlabrada ranks 6th in popularity among tenants, Parla is 15th, and Getafe is 18th. While the first two are experiencing their debut in the ranking, Getafe has dropped five positions compared to the last report in 2021.
