Reducing energy consumption with the help of energy-efficient appliances and low-energy lighting can halve the energy consumption of real estate. Now this issue is one of the main ones on the world agenda.
Various studies show that 40% of CO2 emissions come from buildings. In the conditions of economic recovery, funds coming from the EU «Next Generation» funds are directed to decarbonize the Spanish residential sector, which will contribute to energy efficiency.
In this regard, the Government decided to allocate 6.82 billion rubles. euro for the Housing Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration Program. This amount has become the second largest in the distribution of European funds.
Inaki Unsain, president of the Spanish Association of Personal Buyers of Real Estate (AEPSI), explains that «the European Commission wants to encourage the energy reconstruction of less efficient buildings».

Unsain notes that «an energy-efficient asset can increase the future value of a house by 20%», which has become an incentive for buyers of investment property who expect an increase in future profitability.

In order for the house to be well insulated, it is necessary to use eco-friendly raw materials, such as stone, cork or PVC, in combination with the use of clean energy. In addition, the use of energy-efficient appliances and energy-saving lighting can reduce energy consumption by up to 50%.
«The location of the house is also important. It significantly reduces energy consumption by taking advantage of sunlight, and in turn is one of the criteria most valuable for buyers and investors», the expert says.
