E-commerce in real estate services soared by 60% in the second quarter of 2021

The outbreak of the pandemic in Spain has slowed down online activity in the real estate sector, which reached a very high figure in the first quarter of 2020. Last year's economic recovery once again contributed to the growth of e-commerce in the real estate sector, which grew by 60.4% year-on-year from April to June, exceeding the figures before the pandemic for the first time.

The growth of the real estate sector in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 13.7%, to 13,661 million euros, compared to the same period in 2020. The number of transactions also increased in the second quarter of 2021 to 123,600, which is 48.4% more than in 2020.

E-commerce in real estate services in Spain grew by 54.3% to 16.2 million euros in the second quarter of 2021, which is the highest figure recorded by the agency in this category.

For comparison: in 2020 in Spain, real estate services registered online sales in the amount of 160 million euros, which is 11.4% less than in 2019, when a record number of transactions in the amount of 181.6 million euros were made.
