Crowdfunding raises almost 170 million euros in Spain in 2020

Once again, Crowdlending platforms are leading the way with 49,158,300 euros. They are followed by investment platforms (Equity Crowdfunding) with 44,548,631 euros. Real estate crowdfunding takes the third place with 29,319,570 euros. In fourth place - crowdfunding of donations rakes the with 26,957,162 euros, and crowdfunding of rewards with 17,046,264 euros closes the list.
For the first time in several years, Spain has seen a decline in crowdfunding due to the situation created by COVID-19. Their reduction has led to a decrease in the total amount of fundraising, whereas before they clearly increased it.

Despite this decline in fundraising, Equity Crowdfunding remains stable and has run record-breaking fundraising campaigns, while Rewards Crowdfunding and Donations Crowdfunding have increased fundraising.
In addition, sectors such as Loan Crowdfunding and Real Estate are seeing investment diversification and the launch of new platforms, which makes us think that 2021 will be a great year for crowdfunding.

With a share of 29.43% of the money raised through crowdfunding in Spain, crowdfunding of loans continues to be the leader in fundraising in Spain, despite the fact that it has reduced the amount of money issued by 40% compared to 2019, where 82,480,570 euros were raised, compared to 49,158,300 euros in 2020. The major leading platforms that have reduced their fees justify this reduction. Most of the platforms have maintained their positions and are starting to take off in 2021.
Greater sector diversification means less weight on large platforms, less dependence on them, and more opportunities for lending and investing.
The three leading platforms are MytripleA, October, and Grow.ly. They reduced the volume of fundraising.
