Castilla y León will receive almost 87 million euros for the restoration of property and public buildings

The Council of Ministers of the Spanish Government has authorized the allocation of € 1.631 billion to the Autonomous Communities and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla to rehabilitate property and public buildings as part of the Urban Recovery and Revitalization Plan.

Castilla y León will receive a total of 86.851 million euros:

  • 62.625 million euros from the program for the economic and social rehabilitation of residential areas out of more than 1 billion euros, which the government allocates for this purpose in the country as a whole;
  • 24.225 million euros out of 480 million euros, which the executive branch allocates to the autonomous communities for the restoration of public buildings.

The allocation being approved by an industry conference on property, urban planning and land, will also enable a social rental property program of 20,000 houses by 2026. Thus, the Council of Ministers agreement will contribute to the development and implementation of three programs related to the implementation of the Spanish urban program "Plan for cities recovery and regeneration ", which will mobilize investments of 6.820 billion euros until 2026, they will be referred to Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism of the European Union.

During an industry conference on property, urban planning and land held at the end of May, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) informed the Autonomous Communities and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla about the main features of the programs, which in turn represent the possibility of allocating a significant amount of economic resources for countr’s strategic sectors, with a clear socio-economic effect and an unprecedented contribution to improving environment and energy consumption.
